Is Fearless energy drink good for a pregnant woman?

Energy drinks might “give you wings”, but the flight won’t last long.

Energy drinks like Fearless, Red bull, bullet, Climax etc are marketed as being great for busy people. They do give you a brief lift in your energy and that’s because their ingredients cause a huge spike in your blood sugar levels and give your adrenals a kick to release cortisol and push you into fight/flight.

While this might sound great if you’ve had a late night and you’re struggling to get out of bed the next day, it can actually be really harmful – particularly when you drink them on a regular basis.

Fearless energy drink contain caffeine, buckets of sugar and other stimulants like guarana. The sugar is absorbed quickly and gives you that hit of energy. The caffeine and other stimulants get your adrenals pumping the cortisol and this in turn releases more sugar from your liver – your body is thinking survival.

The detrimental effects of these drinks include weight gain because your body will store all that excess sugar as fat.

A couple of other things to consider which may not be that obvious, caffeine and other stimulants increase your heart rate and blood pressure and this can be dangerous to your health long term. Also, consuming these kinds of drinks regularly can cause insulin resistance which is a risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
