Foods that cause phlegm and mucus – According to Dr Sebi

Mucus is something everyone has, and what is normally secreted by mucosal tissues aka the mucous membrane throughout the body. Some call it phlegm. Others may simply call it snot. Mucus-producing tissue lines are in our mouth, nose, sinuses, throat, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract.

Mucus acts as a protective blanket over these surfaces, preventing the tissue underneath from drying out. “You have to keep it in you, alkaline, lifestyle us a moist water drinking endeavor otherwise they’ll get dry and crack, and you’ll have a chink in the armor

So, when we’re healthy, our body is like a mucus-making machine, churning out about a quarter gal of the stuff every day and most of that mucus trickles down our throat and we don’t even notice it.

However, there are times when we do notice mucus, usually not because we’re producing more of it, but because its consistency has changed. And at times our body produces it more when we get a bad cold, allergy, or we have contact with something irritating, like a some mucus producing foods. When your body gets toxic or the mucous membrane gets compromised, it secretes an acidic into the system and where that mucous accumulates disease will be present in the form of erosion.

Foods that cause phlegm and mucus – According to Dr Sebi:

On top of the list for mucus causing foods are dairy products, soy and eggs, oatmeal, rice, potatoes, green tea, chickpeas, chicken, white flour (bread and pasta), almond milk, yoghurt, butter, ice cream, mangoes, bananas, peanut butter, red meat, bread, processed meat like burgers, and in addition, any processed food, drinks and products that contain additives and preservatives. The problem begins when we eat a lot of these foods without sufficient fresh vegetables and fruits.

Milk and milk products have a bad reputation of causing an increase in mucus production too. After drinking milk, a person might have difficulty swallowing and have a thickening of mucus and saliva.

Caffeinated beverages, such as soft drinks, hybrid tea and bean coffee, may increase the risk of dehydration, which can lead to thicker mucus, according to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. So, drinking alakline water instead of caffeinated drinks will help keep mucus secretions thin and lubricated. Chocolates and desserts containing instant coffee may also thicken mucus due to the dehydrating effects of caffeine in the foods.

The famous herbalist Dr. Sebi claimed that a very good cure for all diseases is by alkalizing the body with an alkaline diet consisting of only vegetables, fruits, nuts, alkaline grains, which would also remove mucus from the body. Along with the diet he also used natural alkaline herbs to clean the body’s cells in the cellular and intra-cellular level to remove disease from the body.

Dr. Sebi’s alkaline diet is based on the premise that disease can only exist in an acidic environment. Dr. Sebi’s approach to disease is that it “finds it genesis when and where the mucous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is Bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is Pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is Diabetes; if it is in the joints, the disease is Arthritis; and… if it is in the brain, the disease is Alzheimer’s…”

Dr. Sebi says, that drinking plenty of water a day is essential to making this alkaline diet work. A gallon of water is this nutritional guide’s suggested daily allowance, because water is essential to a healthy functioning body, and because many of herbs used are diuretics and increase urination to remove toxins from the body.

Dr. Sebi doesn’t recommend eating anything that is not on very specific alkaline diet food list and what comes from hybrid foods (foods grafted of two different plants) because they change the electrical and pH balance of the food for the worst.
