UTME/JAMB cut off mark for gynaecology
Good evening, I know why you are here and I just want to clear your doubts to avoid being duped OR ignorantly deceived. Gynaecology is not an undergraduate degree programme and there is no university in Nigeria that offers Obstetrics and gynaecology as a course. None. You cannot apply for gynaecology to any university through jamb or UTME. To become a gynaecologist, first you have to be a medical doctor first (6 years in medical school) before going further (clinical training) to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology – a program that will take another 6 years in teaching hospitals and federal medical centres. Gynaecology is a post graduate medical program. If you want to be a gynaecologist, you have to become a doctor first. You cannot cut corners.

According to Wikipedia, “Gynaecology or gynecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (vagina, uterus, and ovaries). Outside medicine, the term means “the science of women”. Its counterpart is andrology, which deals with medical issues specific to the male reproductive system.”
Examples of conditions dealt with by a gynaecologist are:
💠Cancer and pre-cancerous diseases of the reproductive organs including ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva
💠Incontinence of urine
💠Amenorrhoea (absent menstrual periods)
💠Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstrual periods)
💠Infertility
💠Menorrhagia (heavy menstrual periods); a common indication for hysterectomy
💠Prolapse of pelvic organs
💠Infections of the vagina (vaginitis), cervix and uterus (including fungal, bacterial, viral, and protozoal)
💠UTI and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
💠Premenstrual Syndrome
💠Other vaginal diseases
There is some crossover in these areas. For example, a woman with urinary incontinence may be referred to a urologist.
To end this my dear young school leaver, it is important for me to repeat that gynaecology is a post graduate medical program and it is not studied in any NIGERIAN University. To become a gynaecologist, apply for medicine in Jamb,
pass your UTME and gain admission to study medicine first, after medical school, you can now decide to specialize in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. There is no JAMB or UTME cut off mark for gynaecology. Thank you.

Nothing like auxiliary Obstetrician. Pass Waec and apply to go to medical school or school of midwifery
Ohhh! but there are so many universities in Nigeria that are offering OBGYN for 6 years, to become a doctor n then 6 years for specialization n residency. But I ur statement u hv made mention there’s no university in Nigeria offering OBGYN🤔🤔🤔
