Bath bombs!These lush, sweet smelling products are sure to make your bath time 100 times better. Put them in the water, watch them fizzle, and soak up with their nutrients for great health benefits. It soothes the body and it is very relaxing and relieving of the day’s stress.

But how do we make bath bombs? Below is the DIY recipe for them

Ingredients/bath bomb recipe

  • 8 oz baking soda
  • 4 oz Epsom salt
  • 4 oz corn starch or arrowroot
  • 4 oz citric acid
  • Large bowl and whisk 2.5 tablespoons coconut oil (or any other veggie oil)
  • About 1 tablespoon water
  • About 2 tablespoons essential oil (for scent)
  • 4-6 drips of food coloring small jar or bowl
  • 12-18 silicone molds
  • Scents and colours ( it can be scent-free)

Instructions/Directions

First, mix the dry ingredients (baking soda, Epsom salt, cornstarch and citric acid) together in a large bowl. Use the whisk to make sure the mixture is clump-free. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a key ingredient in this bath tub explosion !

Now mix up the wet ingredients (oil, water, essential oil and food coloring) . The easiest way to get this party started is put them in a jar and shake them up. This is where you need to use some scent. You should use about 2 teaspoons total of essential oil or perfume. In place of corn starch, you can use kaolin clay or betonite clay
Slowly add the liquid to the dry mixture really slowly. Like a teaspoon at a time. Whisk as you go, and slow down if things start to look fizzy. You should end up with a mixture that just barely clumps together. Like damp sand. Stuff that stuff into the molds
HURRY you don’t want the mix to dry out while it’s still I. The bowl HURRY NOW ! Press the mixture firmly into your down firmly into your silicone molds of choice.
Dry for at least 24 hours, then seal in plastic wrap. The DIY bath bombs need to be sealed or they will absorb moisture from the air and won’t fizz as much in the bathtub. When dry, remove and store in airtight container or bag. Make sure you use within 2 weeks.
