Govt of Doctors: Meet the 6 medical doctors who are Ministers in Tinubu’s Govt!
It is no longer news that many Medical doctors have decided to look beyond clinical medicine and have gone into full time politics. This Emilokan govt of President Tinubu has a total of 6 medical doctors who will be Ministers.
They are:
1. Ali Pate
Former honourable Minister of State for Health in the Jonathan Adminstration, Ali Pate is a top shot in health, he turned down a $700, 000 per month job at GAVI to take up ministerial position in Nigeria.
2. Dr Betta Edu
fmr Health Comm,Cross Rivers and former National women leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Betta Edu is the youngest minister in Tinubu’s govt, she is 35 years
3. Ishak Salako
former Health Commissioner,Ogun State
4. Dr Tunji Alausa
Tunji Alausa is a United States board-certified Nephrologist with over 30 years of experience in private and public health sectors. He is the Executive Chair/Founder,Kidney Care Center, USA.
5. Yusuf Tanko Sununu
A consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecologist at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi who also doubles as a lawmaker in the house of representative for years now. He is the Chairman, House Committee on Health, House of Representatives.
6. Uzoka-Anite
Dr. Dorris Aniche Uzoka hails from Imo State.
Dr. (Mrs) Doris Uzoka-Anite was a former Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy, Imo State.
She was also a former General Manager of Zenith Bank Plc. She hails from Oguta LGA of Imo State.
She is a strong willed individual who has passion for excellence

Medical doctors dominating the health sectors and other sectors of the economy has not really reflected in the welfare of doctors and other health care workers in Nigeria….The health care delivery system in Nigeria leaves much to be desired and failing everyday. We are yet to see a medical doctor as minister who will shed off her/his rigid socialist ideology/mindset to usher in a health care system that the private sector can willing invest in.
Nigeria needs health minister that understands the importance of the private sector in health care delivery.
