Best yogurt for babies and toddlers in Nigeria…best yogurt brand for babies in Nigeria…
A Nigerian mum wrote a message to www.nimedhealth.com.ng to find out the best, safest and healthiest yoghurt for her baby.
My reply:
All yogurt are good for babies or children from 6 months old and above. Plain yoghurt, sweetened yoghurt, unsweetened yogurt and Greek yogurt are all good for children but the less the sugar, the better the yogurt for the baby.
Yogurt should be added to a baby food menu or meal plan because it is very rich in calcium, iodine, probiotics and other essential vitamins. Probiotics helps prevent recurrent diarrhoea in children and promotes gut health. Calcium in yogurt helps in the development of strong bones and teeth in a growing children.
Here are some brands of yogurt in Nigeria that is good for babies above 6 months and toddlers.
