Kunu aya is a non-alcoholic drink that originated from Northern Nigeria among the Hausa Fulani people. It is now a delicacy among students many Nigerians irrespective of tribe, culture and religion.
Kunu drink has numerous nutritional value, health benefits and medicinal properties which I have written about in other articles.
The purpose of this article is to look at the relationship between kunu aya, kunu zaki and weight gain. It is believed by consumers of kunu that it is has the ability to stimulate weight gain in persons with weight loss as a result of diseases.
But how true are these claims?

To be sincere with you, this is a very dicey question to answer. Because like all types of food, the answer depends on how much Kunu drink you consume and how much sugar or other kunu sweeteners you add. The quantity of ingredients should be put into consideration when watching your weight.The great thing about kunu drink (when taken in moderation can actually help you lose weight While on a low carb lifestyle. It does this due to its core ingredient: millet. This nutritious grain contains high levels of protein and fibres and allows you to meet your daily protein requirements without eating meat.The rich fibres in millet helps fill up your stomach promoting early satiety and ensuring you eat very less food.
There is a way millet can also be prepared to aid with weight gain but this can hardly be achieved.
