Eye infections fall into 3 specific categories based on their cause: viral, bacterial or fungal, and each is treated differently

1.Conjunctivitis;
It happens when blood vessels in the conjunctiva(the thin outermost membrane surrounding your eyeball) become infected by bacteria or a virus. As a result, your eyes become pink or red
SYMPTOMS
Red/pink eyes
Watery eyes
Itchiness
Sandy sensation
TREATMENT
Bacterial:Antibiotic eye drops, ointments, or oral medications
Viral:No treatment exists. Symptoms tend to fade after 7 to 10 days. Apply a clean, warm, wet cloth to your eyes to relieve discomfort
Allergic:Antihistamines/anti-inflammatory eye drops can also help with symptoms.
2.Keratitis
This occurs when your cornea gets infected. The cornea is the clear layer that covers your pupil and iris. It results from either an infection or an eye injury.

Red/swollen eye
Eye pain/discomfort
Tears
Blurry vision
Light sensitivity
Sandy sensation
TREATMENT
depends on the cause
Bacterial:Antibacterial eye drop. Plus oral antibiotics for severe cases
Fungal:Antifungal eye drops
Viral:There’s no way to eliminate a virus. Oral antiviral medications or eyedrops can help stop the infection in a few days up to a week.
3.Blepharitis;
This is an inflammation of your eyelids, the skin folds covering your eyes
SYMPTOMS
Red/swollen eye/eyelid
Sandy sensation
Sensitivity to light
Tears
Crust on eyelashes
TREATMENT
Antibiotics eye drop/OINTMENT.
Clean eyelids with warm water and towel.
4.STYE
This is a pimple-like bump that develops on the outer edges of your eyelid
SYMPTOMS
Pain
Itchiness/irritation
Swelling
Tears
Eyelid Crust
TREATMENT
Applying a clean,warm cloth to your eyelids for 20 minutes
Antibiotics eyedrop and pain relievers.
5. Uveitis:
This happens when a part of the inner eye called the uvea is infected.
SYMPTOMS
Redness
Pain
Floaters
Sensitivity to light
Blurry vision
TREATMENT
Wearing sunshades, use of steroid & antibiotics drops
PS:
To treat itchy eyes, use an Antihistamine eyedrop. Most importantly, itchy eyes is usually caused by an allergen possible related to cold weather in ur case so as much as possible identify and eliminate it to prevent recurrence.
Pterygium(not an eye infection) is a kind of reddish/whitish growth protruding from d white part of d eye to the black. It can only be removed tru a surgical procedure, however, eyedrops can be used if it’s inflamed and to relieve other symptoms associated with it.
