How many years is Radiography in Nigeria?
Radiography like many other courses in the university is a relatively short course to study in the university in Nigeria barring the never ending ASUU strikes plaguing Nigerian universities.
Radiography is the art and science of using radiation to produce images of the tissues, organs, bones and vessels that the human body is comprised of. It is an imaging technique using X-rays, gamma rays, or similar ionizing and non ionizing radiation to view the internal form of the body.
Radiographers who are also called Radiologic technologists, Diagnostic Radiographers or Medical Radiation Technologists earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiography (BSc. Radiography) from a university upon completion of education which takes about FOUR (4) years in the university plus one year of clinical experience for UTME candidates.
For A’ level/Direct Entry candidates, Radiography is three years in the university plus one year of clinical experience. But in Nigeria, with the present state of unrest and recurring industrial action in Nigerian tertiary intuitions, Radiography could take up to six (6) years to study in a Federal Nigerian university.
Currently there are no private universities, state universities or Polytechnics offering Radiography in Nigeria. The following are the universities that offer Radiography as a course in Nigeria and they are;

University Of Calabar, Calabar, Cross-Rivers State.
University Of Lagos, Lagos.
University Of Maiduguri, Maiduguri, Borno State.
University Of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu State.
Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto State.
University Of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
You can study Radiography by writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (the UTME cut off mark to study Radiography in the university is 280 and above), and a minimum of credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in O’ levels along with the Post UTME of the school after which if you meet up to the cut-off marks for admission for that year (Usually 80 and above out of hundred), you will be offered admission to study Radiography in the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences as a 100 level student.
