What is the Difference between constipation and indigestion?

CONSTIPATION AND INDIGESTION ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

I see so many people using those words incorrectly. It’s wrong. Pls stop it 🙂

Now here we go;

Constipation is a condition in which there is difficulty in emptying the bowels, usually associated with hardened faeces. Constipation is caused by lack of fibre in food, inflammatory bowel disease, bands and adhesions, lack of good intake if water. Constipation can injure the anus causing anal fissure.

Difference between constipation and indigestion
#Constipation Vs #Indigestion

While Indigestion is pain or discomfort in the stomach associated with difficulty in digesting food. Indigestion commonest symptoms are bloating, belching and flatulence.

When you have indigestion, you may have one or more of the following symptoms:

1. pain,
2. a burning feeling, or discomfort in your upper abdomen.

Indigestion can have causes that aren’t due to underlying disease.

Examples include:

1. Eating too much,
2. Drinking too much,
3. Food intolerance or taking pills on an empty stomach.

Antacids are generally the first choice for indigestion. 💙

Mind you, both constipation and indigestion can occur at the same time. The feeling is not a good one…because the symptoms of #indigestion and #constipation occurring at the same time is terrible. The both also cause abdominal distension.
