Thank you for reaching out. Bitter kola has numerous health benefits and medicinal properties. One of its health benefits is its blood sugar lowering effect. According to research findings, bitter kola is very good for type 2 diabetes because it increase the blood insulin levels which helps to lower blood glucose and control diabetes. Yes, bitter kola is good for diabetics but it does not cure diabwtes, far from it.

How does bitter kola control blood sugar?

Garcinia kola or bitter kola contain a chemical substance called kolaviron. According to research findings, kolaviron has been shown to have anti – diabetic, anti-lipid or cholesterol and anti-bacterial property. This means location found in #bitter #kola is responsible for the blood glucose lowering ability of bitter kola. Eating bitter kola first thing in the morning before food can contribute to regulating your blood sugar and controlling your diabetes.

What about combining bitter kola with diabetic drugs?

The combo of anti-diabetic drugs like metformin with bitter kola may have a synergistic effect so it may tilt you to hypoglycemia. So, be careful in using it.
