Absurd right? Here is one of the article propagating this obvious untruth I found on facebook…. It was quite elaborate but the CLAIMS ARW TOTALLY FALSE… AND CAN LEAD TO MATERNAL MORTALITY IF TAKEN SERIOUSLY. SEE FOR YOURSELF.

🙋‍♀🙋‍♀Note.

1. Please, this is not meant for 2 to 6 month pregnancy. The leaf may not have the potential acid to terminate pregnant but it can sanction the baby to come prematurely.

MY VERDICT….

it is true that Ewedu leaf has nutritional value, medicinal properties and health benefits… However, the claims from the article on the benefits of Ewedu to delivery is false and should not be taken seriously. Drinking Ewedu leaf at 37 weeks of pregnancy does not ease labour pains does not prevent caeserean delivery and does not make vaginal birth easy. Yoruba women suffer similar labour pains and pregnancy complications including prolonged and obstructed labour like every other women from other tribes. You cannot use Ewedu to induce labour.

You must never deliver at home in this modern age and time. Go to the hospital and stop looking for pregnancy short cuts. If you don’t want pain during delivery…. Request for epidural. No culture forbids caeserean delivery in Nigeria and religious charlatans that preach against CS in Nigeria or Africa should be sanctioned and fined…. if found.

Thank you.

  1. Your article is actually false. My mother inlaw birth all her children drinking ewedu juice close to child birth, to quicken delivery. I don’t know about pain or to prevent CS but it helped with quickening delivery. I think the aspect that should be explored isn’t what is being explored. There is more to ewedu leaf, aside giving you energy it does other things too. Have you thought about the other stuff it does for delivery rather than just pain and preventing CS. Did you carry out any research to know it’s false? The west would carry out research before throwing out any article. Aside my mother inlaw, her daughter tried the same method and she also a nurse. I will also try the same too and I am also a nursing student.. I won’t because of that not take whatever the hospital offers to prevent pain but I will consume ewedu juice close the birthing. It’s a sure thing. The modern life we live has seriously blinded us..

  2. You’re totally wrong
You fault a research without making one
Take a sample of the ewedu to the lab and analysis it’s nutritional contents
