List of accredited and approved private school of Nursing and Midwifery in Nigeria.
Yes, it is true that before now many of us used to think that nursing school and even schools of midwifery was only or solely established by the government alone. This is more or less half knowledge , there are many private bodies, private universities and organisation most especially churches that owns and runs private schools of nursing and midwifery fully approved by the nursing council of Nigeria. Many of these schools owned predominately by the Catholic church churn out well trained and skilled nurses and midwives year-in, year-out. I myself have worked with nurses from 5 different nursing schools owned by the catholic church and the Baptist Church…there are also some big Islamic movements in the North especially in Kano with an approved and cheap private nursing school.
The requirements or basic qualifications required to be admitted into these private nursing schools are the same as that of the public owned ones….or sometimes even more….they require 5 credit passes in WAEC or NECO including Mathematics and English Language….You will also be required to pass their nursing entrance exams and score that required but off mark.
I think this explanation is now enough,nimedhealth.com.ng will now quickly give you a list of private school of nursing in Nigeria…stay tuned.
