Alum, yes alum or potash alum – the one we use to wash snail so as to remove slim especially when there is no lime and also to sediment water has found another use in the hands of many ladies. This time, many a woman put this same alum inside their OBOrisky so as to make it “tight” , taut and contracted plus to treat jijinaa infections like yeast infection. Side effects of putting alum in the vagina
1. Infections
As a lady, washing your area with alum can introduce infection like bacterial vaginosis, vaginal candidiasis and other causes of vaginal discharge… Many ladies are usually wrongly advised to douch with alum water so as to treat yeast infection, whereas douching with alum water or putting alum pebbles inside there may be the source of your recurrent infections. It contaminates the vivigina environment killing off the good bacteria for bad bacteria to thrive and cause diseases.
2. Scarring
Washing the “inside of your body” with alum can injure you and cause scarring…. This can lead to gynatresia….
Gynatresia is the narrowing or complete occlusion of the vagina, which may be congenital or acquired. In Nigeria, acquired gynatresia is more common, usually resulting from the use of herbal pessaries and products like alum.
3. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and Female Infertility
Perhaps this complication of using alum as feminine wash should have been under infections but I decided to separate because this complication alone is a major cause of infertility among women. Introducing caustic products like alum in there can spread bacterial organisms like staphylococcus into the female reproductive tract leading to tubal blockage, Asherman’s syndrome and subsequent infertility or inability to conceive.
4. Tears and injuries
Alums are well known to have sharp and jagged edges and therefore have the capability to tear you and cause serious injuries and very serious vig..na bleeding.
5. Cancers.
Introducing toxic and caustic products like alum inside your body can cause repeated insults and as a result lead to various forms of cancers like va.g.ina cancer, vulva cancer, cervical cancer, and ovarian cancer. Keep alums away from your delicate part.
6. Burns
Whether you like it or not, alum is a form of chemical that have the capacity to burn you down there when applied or used to douch. The pains of getting burnt down should send you some warnings.
7. Dryness
Douching with alum or putting potassium alum inside you can damage Virginia glands that produce sec*retions leading to dryness. Dryness can lead to poor libido in women and dyspareunia.
8. Vagi..nal ulcer
Alum in there can cause injuries, burns and painful ulcers…
9. Allergy
The truth is some persons react to alum by whatever manifestation. Inserting alum inside your bod..y can trigger a life threatening allergic reaction…. Be warned and be careful.
10. Toxicity
Alum placed inside your bo*dy can release chemicals that will escape inside your blood stream causing toxicity and damage to vital organs like the brain, liver, kidneys, eyes etc. Don’t fall victim to alum toxicity, remove alum from your you know.
