Ciprofloxacin is a very popular and commonly abused antibiotics that many ladies use to treat pelvic inflammatory disease and all sorts of vaginal infections. In Africa, a brand of ciprofloxacin called ciprotab is used or abused for the treatment of typhoid fever without a doctor’s prescription. I recently learnt that some persons especially ladies have gone beyond the abuse of ciprofloxacin for typhoid fever cure, they now use ciprofloxacin as a form of contraceptive. I mean some ladies actually take ciprofloxacin after having unprotected sex with the belief that it prevent pregnancy. They belief ciprofloxacin (ciprotab) is able to to prevent pregnancy by killing the deposited sperm in the woman’s “you know”.

Ladies who take ciprofloxacin after unprotected sex in order to prevent unintended pregnancy are just wasting their time…ciprofloxacin does not kill sperm or flush out sperm in any way.
What is ciprofloxacin used for?
Cipro is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu or coronavirus). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. This is called antibiotic resistance.
Side Effects
The common side efects of cipro are: Nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, or trouble sleeping may occur.
