A comprehensive List of approved Hospitals for Nursing internship in Nigeria.
I know there was a time this was a burning issue but yes BNSc Nurses (Nursing graduates) now go a their compulsory one year internship training program just like medical doctors, medical lab scientists, pharmacists, and physiotherapists. Many persons do not know this because it is not well documented on the internet.
Nursing internship program was approved by the federal government of Nigeria in 2016 and many hospitals especially teaching hospitals, federal medical centres, some state run general hospitals and some big private hospitals have been approved for nursing interns with pay.
However, they didn’t all start taking nurse interns at the same time… University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, was the earliest bird, they started employing nurse interns as far pay as 2016 when the programme was just implemented, UBTH started taking nursing interns in 2018 while Central Hospital Benin City commenced the employment of BSC nurses for their mandatory internship program in 2019.
