Podowart Paint Composition:
Podophyllum Resin BP 20%w/v
Benzion IP 10% w/v
Aloes IP 2%w/v
Ethanol 95% IP 5%v/v
Menthanol 5%v/v
Isopropyl Alcohol IP to make 100v/v
USES AND INDICATIONS:
Treatment of anogenital warts.
Dosage:
No particular dosage for podowart….it depends on the size of the wart. Just paint the wart with the brush as much as possible….ensure the podowart Solution paint touches every inch of the wart
how to use:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. To be used only under medical supervision.
2. Do not repeat the treatment without first seeking Physician’s advice.
3. Make sure that the wart and skin surrounding it are intact. Don’t apply podowart paint on an ulcerated skin. Apply Vaseline or petroleum jelly around the the warts to protect normal skin before applying the podowart on the wart itself.
4. Clean the wart and skin around it with spirit or either.
Apply Podowart Paint with the applicator provided in the carton. Allow to dry thoroughly.
5. It should not be applied to the broken skin. Avoid contact with eyes.
6. Do not be alarmed at the appearance of wart after Podowart paint is applied as it may look like a tangled mass.
7. The loose skin may be brushed or scrapped away.
8. Podowart Paint is painless although there maybe a mild pricking sensation or slight tenderness.
9. If severe pain occurs, Podowart Paint should be removed immediately with spirit or ether, the skin cleansed and a dry dressing applied.
10. Often after about 2 to 8 weeks, the wart can be shelled out or may drop out, but it may take upto twelve weeks for it to disappear. Therefore, do not be disheartened in the early days even though wart appears just as before.
11. Podophyllum may cause dermatitis in sensitive patients.
CAUTION:
Podowart Paint is a potent cytotoxic agent which can cause serious side effects and damage if not used exactly as per instructions of your Doctor.
Podowart Paint should be prescribed only by Physician who have competence in the diagnosis and treatment of intraepidermal tumors of the skin caused by infection with human papillomavirus (HPV).
Podowart should never be applied on an open skin.
Side effects:
1. Burns. Podowart paint causes painful burns especially to the normal skin if not properly applied.

Storage:
Store in a dry & dark place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C*.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Warning:
Wash your hands thoroughly after handling Podowart Paint.
