How to get job as an IMG doctor in the UK
A UK based doctor wrote this:
HOW TO GET JOB AS AN IMG DOCTOR IN THE UK
There are ONLY 4 ways to work in the U.K. as an International Medical Graduate.
1.PLAB route: Quickest and easiest.
Do your IELTS/OET, Pass PLAB 1&2, Get GMC registration then apply for training or non training jobs or as RMO in private hospitals. Websites for jobs: http://jobs.nhs.uk, http://apps.trac.jobs, Capemed, RMO international, NES healthcare etc
2. MEMBERSHIP OF ROYAL COLLEGE ROUTE:
You should pass all the parts of the exams eg MRCP-you must pass Part 1,2 & PACES, MRCS, MRCOG, MRCPsych etc.
This will get you full GMC registration & possibility of higher entry level jobs. It’s a longer route & more expensive.
However, MRCGPIntl will not get you GMC registration as MRCGP is mainly gotten by going through proper GP training in the U.K.

3.MTI ROUTE: Medical Training Initiative.
This is less common & depends on you getting a sponsored job by an affiliate program Royal College. You will not need PLAB for this.
You’ll most likely be offered a 2-year job role as a specialty registrar on a Tier-5 visa that doesn’t count towards British citizenship (correct me if I’m wrong).
But you can apply for other Tier-2 jobs and switch so you would be eligible for British citizenship in 6years time.
4.SPONSORSHIP ROUTE:
If you’re highly skilled and already in training or completed training in your country, you can apply for jobs in any hospital in the U.K. that is advertising for your specialty. If the employers are happy with your CV, they can make special case for you and apply for GMC license without any exam. These jobs are mostly advertised for Drs who have international fellowships.
An IMG is a medical doctor that got his or her training from outside the UK. MOST IMG doctors in the UK are from Africa, Indian and Asia.
