Do you know that taking some antibiotics like amoxicillin clavulanate with milk, yoghurt or any dairy products even ice cream can render the antibiotic ineffective?
This is because these dairy products usually contain a lot of calcium and calcium binds to some of these antibiotics and prevents them from getting absorbed through the intestine into your body.
Now the antibiotics remains in your alimentary canal and not get to the bloodstream and of course becomes useless and passed out in stool . This may be the singular reason you’re not getting better.

It is recommended that you can only take diary products like ice cream, milk, or cheese 3 hours before and after taking amoxicillin. It all has to do with the calcium in the milk binding with the amoxicillin clavulanate and inactivating it. So, it cannot carry out its antibiotic function.
