UTME/JAMB Subject Combination for Physiotherapy…

Wrong JAMB subject combination has been the mistake of many candidates who end up losing their admission opportunities. It is imperative that you always carryout research on your proposed course, alternative courses, choices of institutions, and their requirements (UTME cut-off marks, post UTME, etc) before filling your JAMB form and registering for the examination.

I have witnessed a situation where a girl became panicked and destabilized when she was registering for JAMB and the personnel informed her that her preferred course was not offered by the University of her choosing and this I am sure has happened to a lot of candidates.

In that moment of panic, they end up making wrong decisions and potentially reducing their chances of getting admitted into the university or choosing a good course which suits them.

The correct JAMB subject combination to study Physiotherapy in a Nigerian University is
Use of English
Physics
Chemistry and
Biology

which is the standard combination for students studying health related courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Biochemistry and the likes. The UTME cut off mark to study Physiotherapy in the university is 280 and above, and a minimum of credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in O’ levels along with the Post UTME of the school after which if you meet up to the cut-off marks for admission for that year (Usually 80 and above out of hundred), you will be offered admission to study

Physiotherapy in the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences as a 100 level student. .

Some of the universities where you can study Physiotherapy include; Bayero University, Kano (BUK), University of Lagos (UNILAG), University of Ibadan (UI), University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Bowen University, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU, Physiotherapy is offered as Medical Rehabilitation which comprises of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy).
