Can augmentin kill sperm in a woman?
Augmentin or co-amoxiclav is a combo of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. It an an antibiotic and not a contraceptive… Augmentin does not have anti-sperm properties as widely claimed…. augumetin does not kill sperm in a women…so women who take augumetin after unprotected sex are on their own…..it will not prevent pregnancy or flush out sperm.
Again, it is not on record that antibiotics like augmentin or amoxicillin can kill sperm sperm both in males and females.

Those ladies that use Augmentin as emergency contraceptive are in for a long thing because it will fail…These poor pregnancy prevention practices is why the world is overpopulated today….so many unintended pregnancies.
If you want to prevent pregnancy after an unprotected intercourse, why not take recommended emergency contraceptive pills like postinor, postpill, plan B etc….why back on antibiotics like augmentin, ampiclox that will fail you? Be guided.
What is Augmentin then used for if not for pregnancy?
According to WEBMD: “Augmentin is a combination penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.”
