ANDREWS LIVER SALT COMES IN POWDER, and because it has an effervescent property when mixed with water, it is used to remove trapped wind in the stomach.
Composition of Andrews liver salt.
The powder contains sugar;
an antacid, sodium bicarbonate (22.6% w/w);
citric acid (to provide effervescence) (19.5% w/w);
and a laxative, magnesium sulphate (17.4% w/w).
Andrews liver salt is somewhat similar to Eno’s salts and Kruschen salts, and a mild form of Epsom salts which is just magnesium sulphate.
