Want to Lose Weight? Check out the Atkins Diet Plan in Nigeria

Atkins Diet is a weightloss diet that favors the consumption of protein and fat over carbs implicating carbs as the cause of weight gain. It was developed a physician called Robert. C. Atkins M.D who wrote a best-selling book about it in 1972.

Since then, the Atkins diet has been popular all over the world with several studies showing its effectiveness in weight loss, lowering blood sugar levels and LDL cholesterol, reducing hunger and increasing the amount of HDL (good) cholesterol.

The Atkins diet is another low carb, high fat and high protein diet! In the 70s it was originally considered to be an unhealthy diet due to the focus on saturated fats! It was later discovered that saturated fats are virtually harmless and actually very healthy!

The diet calls for eating as much protein and fats as you want and a massive reduction in the intake of carbs! The main reason why low-carb diets are so effective for weight loss is that a reduction in carbs and increased protein intake lead to reduced appetite, making you eat fewer calories without having to think about it!
