Edo state speaker, Frank Okiye, have tested positive for coronavirus, Obaseki in self-isolation
The speaker of Edo State House of Assembly Frank Okiye has tested positive for coronavirus.
Edo deputy governor Philip Shaibu disclosed Okiye’s status while briefing journalists on Wednesday.
The state governor Godwin Obaseki in a statement by his media aide Crusoe Osagie said he has sent his samples for testing.
Meanwhile, the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, tweeted that samples have been collected from him for COVID19 testing and he is on self isolation while awaiting results.
In his tweets: “I have gone into self-isolation and sent in my samples for testing after 2 persons I came in contact with tested positive for #coronavirus. I am taking this precaution to protect people that may otherwise come in contact with me. I urge my colleagues to get tested too.”
The speaker is the second person in Edo state that tested positive for coronavirus.
