JUST IN: Nigerian Govt confirms 4 new cases of coronavirus, 13 cases in total now. 12 confirmed cases in Lagos, 1 case in Ekiti.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health of Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, just announced that 4 more new cases of coronavirus has been confirmed in Nigeria. This new cases were part of the 19 persons quarantined for making contact with the the confirmed cases of yesterday. This new cases of COVID19 has taken the total number of persons infected with coronavirus to 13 and Lagos is the worst hit with 12 cases and Ekiti just one.

Prof Abayomi confirmed this in his verified Twitter this afternoon.

He wrote:

“19 suspected cases and contacts of the new cases announced yesterday were tested and 4 turned out positive for COVID 19:

  1. A contact of the third case that came from the UK (One of the new cases announced yesterday).
  2. A female Nigerian who returned to Nigeria from France via Istanbul on a Turkish flight number TK1830 on the 14th of March, 2020,
  3. A Nigerian male in his 50s never traveled anywhere presented with symptoms and was tested positive of the virus and has been admitted.
  4. A Nigerian male who arrived in Lagos on13th of March from Frankfurt on Lufthansa Flight number LH568.
