The Honourable Minister of Health Prof. Osagie Ehanire has announced the 3rd case of COVID19 in Nigeria.

According to the verified Twitter handle of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC):

“The case is a Nigerian who returned to Lagos from UK and developed symptoms during her 14-day self-isolation.

The infected, a 30-year-old Nigerian female who returned from the United Kingdom on Friday, observed self-isolation, developed symptoms and tested positive. She is clinically stable and is being treated at Infectious Disease Hospital, Lagos.

The National Emergency Operations Centre continues to support @LSMOH in the response The State has begun contact tracing to identify contacts of case since her return to Nigeria.

We continue to assess the COVID19 in Nigeria situation and review national response accordingly.

The inaugural meeting of the Presidential Task Force on #COVID19 will hold today An update will be provided after this meeting especially on travel and social distancing measures We urge Nigerians to follow advise provided by Federal Ministry of Health, NCDC and health authorities.”
