A FEW WEEKS AGO, while in the hospital, we once again encountered a case of COITAL LACERATION.

But the bottom line is that we repaired it. And we had to downplay the scenario professionally, else the parents could skin her alive. We were just, you know, being economical with the truth 😎😎😎😎
A lot of you might seem surprised because you don’t know such things exist. When I taught this on our WhatsApp groups, people were shocked because they argued that the vagina is elastic.

The first thing you all have to know is this that
the vagina is elastic, no doubt, but more importantly, just like every other elastic material, it can tear too. From physics we know of elastic limit, yield point and breaking point.

This doesn’t mean that coital laceration occurs like that because the tear isn’t exactly as a result of the vagina getting to the yield point and breaking point from sheer strain.

However, it tells you that the vagina, though elastic, can tear when the elastic limit is exceeded. It’s the reason we give episiotomy to some women during childbirth (at crowning) to avoid the bad tearing of the vagina that can be terrible.

I don’t want this to be a formal lecture, but the urge is getting irresistible. So coital laceration simply means a tear in the genital tract of a person, often a woman, from a sexual act. Coital laceration could be the cause of post coital bleeding.

The most times dey occur around the vaginal area or just outside of it. It is got from two words:
Coitus = sex
Laceration = cut
I don’t want to go into further details, but this explanation is enough.
Usually, some people believe coital laceration occurs only from what we call PVD in medicine, which means, Peno Vaginal Disproportion.
PVD simply means that the size of the penis is not fitting well into the vagina, and in most cases, it’s cause the 🍆 is too big for the vagina.

But it’s not always the case shaa cos the head of a newborn comes through the vagina and the penis no big pass baby head 😄😄
In many cases, coital laceration is because of the increased friction encountered by the penis as it thrusts into the vagina FORCEFULLY. Like say the guy dey dig for gold.

The inside of the vagina is made up of a different category of carpets (epithelial cells) known as simple columnar cells, just like the inside of your mouth.

The mucus layer is that pink part of the vagina when you part it with your fingers 😎😎.
Same way the inside of your mouth is pink. These mucous or pink cells do not have the strength to withstand so much friction like the cells of the skin, which are made of stratified squamous cells (forget the last three words).
So this means that during vigorous sexual acts, the mucus layer of the vagina can easily tear
Cos e no strong at all.
When this happens, it’s called COITAL LACERATION. And the thing about it is that it bleeds profusely in serious cases.
It’s different from soreness of the vagina which arises cos of just increased friction and no tear
Same thing you experience when you rub a rough paper like sandpaper on your skin for too long – soreness.
So enough of the lectures and back to my gist. The babe that was brought to us was having a good time with boo.

So last last, they began the banging

~ Huge penis

~ No lubrication
~ Increased force of the thrusting
And the bleeding wasn’t funny. The guy was scared like mad

But thankfully I assisted the surgeon in the repair.
The parents of the gal heard their daughter was rushed to the labour ward theatre because she was bleeding.
And they thought she was pregnant and went for abortion or something. But the repair was a minor procedure and it was a success. So las las, just add it to your body of knowledge.
A vagina can tear from sex and it is called COITAL LACERATION
So if you like, be banging like say you dey drive Lamborghini, you’re on your own 😂
