PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA TO STUDY MEDICINE

Education in Nigeria is fraught with many challenges which include but are not limited to inconsistencies in policy and political will which leads to prolonged stay in school from strike action, inability to gain or outright loss of accreditation, poor learning experience from overcrowded classrooms, lack of adequate learning infrastructure, inadequacy of teaching staff, the lack of basic amenities in the school premises to mention a few. These challenges have spurred private individuals and organizations to join hands with the government in the provision of tertiary education to the Nigerian people, in hopes to fill in some of the observable gaps in the education system.
Medical education is no different, in that there are myriad challenges in the provision of medical education in public tertiary institutions, some of which are as listed above. Hence, there are private universities in Nigeria that also offer Medicine as a course.
