BREAKING NEWS: Etsako Central has One (1) Confirmed Case of COVID-19.
Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State have One (1) new Coronavirus case confirmed this afternoon from Ugbekpe Ekperi.
The Health workers who first attended to the patient are in quarantine as the Health Centre has been shut down.
According to available reports, the young man who contracted the disease came to the clinic as he felt some coronavirus symptoms where he was given first aid treatment before being taken to Irrua specialist hospital for proper check-up for which he tested positive to the virus. He is now in Isolation Centre at Irrua.
The Executive Chairman Etsako Central Local Government Council Comrade John Osi Akhigbe reiterated his unrelenting commitment towards breaking the chain of transmission of the Coronavirus disease that is nearer now than at any point in time.
He said that everyone needs to be vigilant as the Local Government will intensify efforts for possible contact tracing and quarantine of close contacts to the infected person.
The Council Boss who always works round preaching preventive measures encouraged everyone to practice preventive measures such as frequent hand washing and use of sanitizers while also practicing cough etiquette. He also encourage everyone to imbibe the culture of using facemasks.
He urged the emergency response team to keep watch as one case has been recorded in the Local Government Area.
Etsako Central is a Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Fugar. It has an area of 660 km² and a population of 94,575 in the 2006 census.
