Good afternoon, so I am here at the Lagos State owned Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba Lagos where the Coronavirus index patient is being managed. Follow official updates .. I will share a lot of info on this thread.
At the moment .. This is the ward where the index patient is being kept … Neat Environment .. Sealed windows, Well air conditioned …👇
This was where the index patient was kept at first for privacy purposes, as the ward was being prepared .. This place is also a well air conditioned and equipped set of rooms ..👇

Just in case of overflow of patients .. There are tents here that are being worked on …. and it can accommodate patients, it will be well air conditioned too …

Finally …. We also have a “Mobile Clinic” … It can deploy 30 beds to also support this operation .. This also is just in case we have more patients … But it is here and on Standby …
I almost missed this … This facility also has the the Boisecurity Level 3 Lab … This is where the test is being done to confirm the the Coronavirus and all other kinds of viruses too … Massive Lab ….
This thread on my visit to the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba where the first case of coronavirus (Italian) is being treated will not be complete without giving special thanks to the hardworking staff in the centre especially the Medical Director, Dr Bowale Abimbola, who acted as a tour guide and was ever ready to provide answers to my many questions.

Gawat to debunk the fake news making the round on social media that the centre is extremely hot, infested with mosquitoes and the infected Italian attempted to escape because of the facility’s poor condition.
