1. Miscarriage
Dry gin is alcoholic and can cause miscarriage or pregnancy loss. No wonder some women try to use drugs gin to abort unwanted pregnancies. Pregnant women who take gin stand a chance of having a miscarriage.
2. Congenital Malformations

4. Fetal alcohol syndrome
Babies of women who took alcoholic drinks like dry gin during pregnancy can develop fetal alcohol syndrome. Babies with fetal alcohol syndrome hardly do well or excel in school.
According to Mayoclinic: “Fetal alcohol syndrome is a condition in a child that results from alcohol exposure during the mother’s pregnancy. Fetal alcohol syndrome causes brain damage and growth problems. The problems caused by fetal alcohol syndrome vary from child to child, but defects caused by fetal alcohol syndrome are not reversible.”
“The severity of fetal alcohol syndrome symptoms varies, with some children experiencing them to a far greater degree than others. Signs and symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome may include any mix of physical defects, intellectual or cognitive disabilities, and problems functioning and coping with daily life.”
5. Stomach Ulcer and Gastritis
Dry gin can cause gastritis, heartburns and peptic ulcer disease in pregnancy. Stomach ulcer complicates pregnancy and pregnant women are advised to desist from taking possible factors that can cause it like alcohol or dry gin. Dry gin causes erosion of the stomach wall and can also cause intestinal bleeding.
6. False labour and Premature Delivery
Dry gin can cause premature uterine contractions during pregnancy and preterm delivery. Women who take dry gin while pregnant stand a risk of giving birth to premature babies.
7. Liver damage and Kidney Damage
Dry gin and alcohol general are toxic insults to the kidneys and liver. Taking gin pregnancy can lead to liver failure and kidney failure.
