Miracle seed is a very popular seed in Nigeria and Ghana due to its health benefits ans medicinal uses. Some religious people from these two West African countries even believe miracle seed has spiritual uses and can be used to perform signs and wonders hence the name.
The three big languages in Nigeria , hausa , Igbo and Yoruba cherish miracle seed but to my surprise I am surprised that the seed has not been given any indigenous Igbo, hausa or yoruba name…..These three tribes simple call the sees miracle seed, Ghana seed , or black seeds.

This is the second time I’m reading your article on the so called miracle seeds. The first was on “what are the benefits of miracle seeds? About 20 here.” Please without any pun intended they are both misleading. Misleading in the sense that you’re referring to “black seed” which of a truth many has come to know it as a miracle seed. But the pics you displayed on both write-up have nothing to do with black seeds.
The miracle seeds you referred to that is both popular in Nigeria and Ghana is not the same as Black seed or the other common names listed on your write-up. We don’t have a name for the black seed in Nigeria and Ghana because it’s not grown in Nigeria and Ghana. But the pics displayed above which is also known as a miracle seeds is known as Eso Aworo Awogba or (Igbe) in Yoruba and Dokita in Igbo language. The English name is croton seeds. It has no semblance with the black seed or black seed oil. It is mainly used as a purgative to the digestive system. And it has serious side effects if not administered in the correct ways.
