Information reaching the NIGERIAN HEALTH BLOG is that 15 medical doctors have reportedly tested positive for COVID19 in Kano and are presently undergoing treatment.
Health care providers believe it is as a result of lack of personal protective equipments since the doctors work without adequate protection against coronavirus hence they are at risk of easily getting infected. According to her, doctors are human too and they need protection while carrying out their statutory duties.
A medical doctor in the frontline of fighting COVID19 in Nigeria, Dr Halima Muhammed is therefore appealing to doctors nationwide to insist on PPEs before touching a patient even it means losing their job.
I5 doctors in Kano test positive to Covid-19. No doctor should see any patient without his/her full PPE please. If the hospital cannot provide you with one, dont see their patients. The worst they can do is sack you,and thats fine because your Family needs you too. You are human!
