President Donald Trump finally undergoes test for coronavirus.
Amidst fears of uncertainty of the health status of the US president following his contact with persons who later tested positive for COVID- 19, President Donald Trump finally agreed to get tested for coronavirus “just to allay fears” after his initial refusal. But the results are yet to return, Fox News reported on Saturday.
Just before a briefing with the White House press corps, Trump said he had his “temperature taken and was fine,” the outlet reported. The test comes after coming into contact with an official now known to have tested positive for Covid-19.
He shared the same table with a guest at Mar-a-Lago who has since tested positive for the new coronavirus, CNBC reported.
The incident took place at his Florida resort last weekend, when Trump was hosting a Brazilian delegation including the country’s President Jair Bolsonaro (coronavirus whose tests results still remains shrouded in secrecy and controversy ) and his press secretary, Fabio Wajngarten.
Earlier today, President Trump has declared a sstate of emergency on coronavirus in the United States following official reports that COVID-19 was now in 49 out of 50 states. While addressing Americans this week, he announced he has imposed travel ban on Europe for 30 days and admonish state governors to set -up emergency centres for diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus.
