Coronavirus: Guests undergo compulsory screening to attend Obasanjo 83rd birthday celebration (pictures)

Guests attending the 83rd birthday event of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo have been made to undergo compulsory screening for any signs of fever before access into the event hall.

This is in an attempt to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, following the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria.

The event, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, had in attendance, dignitaries from all walks of life both within and outside Nigeria.

However, individuals entering the event hall were screened one after the other, with a thermometer, by health practitioners, at the point of entry. Screened guests must be fever-free and not show any suspicious symptoms of coronavirus before they are admitted into the venue.

After being certified free of any suspicious ailments, guests are given hand sanitizer as they join other wellwishers.

This has further put paid to the viral fake news circulating in social media where Obasanjo was quoted as saying “he does not believe there is coronavirus in Nigeria and he wants to hug the reported index case (Italian) so as to confirm the presence of the disease in Nigerian soil”. He was even quoted as saying “himself wan get the disease”.
