Who is the owner of memfys hospital? Well, meet Prof. Sam Ohaegbulam, the owner and founder of Memphys Neurosurgery Hospital based in Enugu,  South East Nigeria.

Memphys Hospital is a privately owned and run centre that offers services in neurology, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery, radiology, CT scan, MRI and siemens mobile digital X-Ray and several others.

1. His full name is Professor Samuel C. Ohaegbulam

2. He is the Chief Neurosurgeon of Memphys Neurological Hospital Enugu

3. He went to medical school at Cairo University, Egypt in 1967 graduating with honours.

4. Thereafter, he had specialist training in Neurosurgery in the United Kingdom including the famous Atkinson Hospital of St George’s Medical School, London.

5. He had Microneurosurgery Training at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, USA.

6. He joined the University of Nigeria as Lecturer 1 in 1974 and was became a full Professor in 1980. While in UNN,  He held several positions including, Head of Anatomy, Associate Dean of Medicine, Dean of Medicine and Deputy Vice Chancellor and Head of Enugu Campus of UNN.

7. Here are his academic qualifications: M.B, B.Ch (Cairo), FRCS (Ed), FRCS (Eng), FWACS (W. Africa), FMCS (Nig), FICS

8.  He was also Chief of Neurosurgery at the North West Armed Forces Hospital, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia from 1989 to 2001.

9. Prof. Sam Ohaegbulam pioneered Neurosurgery at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu in the early 2000s before establishing Memp.

10. He is the the first President of the African Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, a position he held in 2007.

11. He is an author. He wrote the book Geographical Neurosurgery, a best selling online medical book.

12. He has trained many Neurosurgeons and still training more at the Memphys Hospital for Neurosurgery.

13. He has a wealth of experience in surgery of tumours of the brain and spinal cord, and  Spinal Surgery including Spinal Instrumentation.
