What is indomie made of? Indomie Ingredients
It is made from flour.It is fortified with vitamin A, B1, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid and iron. It is very high in calories bit low in fibre and proteins.

What are Calories in Indomie noodles without seasoning
Many people will are on a weight loss diet plan or persons who do not want to gain weight from eating indomie usually ask me this question. Well, eating Indomie with out without the seasoning sincerely does not reduce or increase the calories. With or without seasoning, Indomie is a high calorie diet that will make you gain weight.
Can Indomie noodles make one gain weight?
Yes. Indomie is low in proteins and fibre but very high in calories. It is protein and fibres that drives satiety that is, fill the stomach. Since Indomie is low in fibre and proteins, you have a tendency to eat more and the more you eat these high calorie noodles, the higher the chances of making you fat(gain weight).
Is Indomie good for weight loss?
No. Please if you want to lose weight, don’t had Indomie noodles to your meal plan at all. Indomie has not been shown to aid weight loss. It rather helps you gain weight because of its high calories.
Is Indomie good for pregnant women?
Of course yes but with a caveat. Indomie is very low in nutrients and is usually not recommended for pregnant women because of the higher nutritional demand. Pregnant women that want to eat Indomie noodles should add vegetables, meat, chicken, fish and crayfish to make it more nutritious.
Can Indomie Cause cancer?
Foods that are low in fibre have been shown to spend longer and the colon and increase the transit time (takes longer for the waste product to be passed out as faeces). Foods that have long transit time such as Indomie and spaghetti have to shown to be a risk factor for colorectal cancer. Some medical experts also think that eating raw Indomie may cause cancer.
Is Indomie healthy?
This is a million dollar question. Indomie is not all that healthy because it is lacking in essential nutrients especially for children and pregnant women. Well indomie is said to contain a lot of MSG. And most people have suggested rinsing it after boiling to reduce it. Also, some nutrition experts recommend adding vegetables and proteins like egg or meat, while consuming noodles. This is to make it more nutritious and minimize the side effects that may have been triggered by MSG toxicity or allergies.
Side effects of Indomie
Indomie instant noodles has its side effects which include:
1. Constipation: This is due to the fact that noodles contains low fibre and hardly forms bulk in the intestines.
2. Indomie seasoning contains phenylalanine, so individuals suffering from phenylketonuria, an inborn error of metabolism, should avoid the seasoning. Otherwise,cooking it with the seasoning may worsen symptoms.
3. Malnutrition: Growing your children on Indomie only diet can lead to protein energy malnutrition such as kwashiokor and marasmus . Indomie is not a balanced diet.
4. Indomie also contains monosodium glutamate (MSG) popularly known in Nigerian parlance as “white maggi”. Indomie seasoning and Ajinomoto are some examples of seasonings that contains MSG. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is one of the additives (taste enhancer) used in food industries.
