What is toilet infection?

Toilet infection is medically termed as vaginal I infection or vaginitis . They are conditions that cause infection or inflammation of the vagina causing discharge , foul odour , irritation and itching.

There are several types of toilet infection , however, the most common kinds are:

Bacteria vaginosis

Vaginal Yeast infection (candidiasis)

Trichomoniasis

Others include:

Gonorrhoea

Chlamydia

Non infectious vaginitis etc

Symptoms of toilet infections

The common symptoms of the various kinds of toilet infection are: itching, foul vaginal discharge, burning.

The following are the common symptoms if each kind of toilet infection:

1. Abnormal vaginal discharge with foul odour (fish like smell)

2. Discharge may be thin with white or gray colour

3. Itching around the vaginal

4. Burning during urination

5. Some women may not have any symptoms.

Symptoms of vaginal yeast infection:

There are several tell-tale signs of a vaginal yeast infection. These symptoms can include:

👉An itchy sensation in the vagina and vulva.
👉A thick, white vaginal discharge with the consistency of cottage cheese.
👉Redness and swelling of the vagina and vulva.
👉Small cuts or tiny cracks in the skin of the vulva because of friable skin in the area.
👉A burning feeling when you urinate.

In some cases, another symptom of a vaginal yeast infection can be pain during sex.

Trichomoniasis as a toilet infection

Trichomoniasis Symptoms

About 70% of women with trichomoniasis don’t have symptoms. In others, the signs might not show up until days or weeks after infection.

Women with trichomoniasis may have:

👉Vaginal fluid that smells bad and is greenish or yellowish
👉Genital itching, burning, redness, or soreness
👉Pain when they pee or have sex
👉The need to pee more often
👉Bleeding during or after sex

Causes of toilet infection (bacteria vaginosis)

1. Pregnancy

2. Frequent douching

3. Smoking especially Shisha

4. Multiple sexual partners or a new sexual partner

5. Use of Intrauterine device (IUD)

6. Prolonged use of antibiotics

7. Abuse of antibiotics

8. Medical conditions that weaken the immune system like diabetes and HIV

9. Hormonal changes in pregnancy, ovulation and menapause; All these conditions are called of creating a conducive environment for the growth of bacteria or fungus within the vaginal.

10. Birth control pills…They are capable of interfering with the oestrogen content of the body promoting fungal and bacteria growth in the vaginal

Non infectious vaginitis as toilet infection

Non infectious vaginitis is not caused by bacteria or fungus …it is a case where the itching , burning, and foul vaginal discharge occur as a result of allergic reactions to various feminine products like vaginal sprays, pant liners, detergents, fabric softeners, perfumed soaps.

Treatment of vaginal infections and home remedies

Bacteria vaginosis

👉Garlic

👉Apple cedar vinegar

👉Boric acid

👉A combo of bitter kola and Teem lemon… Soaked sliced bitter kola in Teem lemon and allow it to stand for 3 days. Take half a cup morning and evening for 7 days.

Vaginal Yeast infection

Yoghurt

Garlic

Tree tea oil

Trichomoniasis

Can be treated with metronidazole (flagyl). It is usually given as a single dose .

Prevention of toilet infection

👉Always keep yourself clean and dry

👉Avoid using vaginal sprays or heavily perfumed soaps on the vagina

👉Be careful not to allow transfer of germs from the anal area to the vagina during wiping

👉Avoid wearing clothes that with old heat and moisture such as nylon underwear, right jeans, and pant hose without cotton.

👉Use of protection (latex) may help prevent infection

👉Eating yoghurt with active cultures may help reduce yeast infection

👉Don’t use deodorant tampons or pads

👉Remaining in a sweaty or dirty cloth van worsen toilet infection

  1. Can this bitter kolas and teem lemon effectve for stubborn staph infection.. Cos I have been taking antibiotics for toilet infection
